Description
The Clinical Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) Course is a comprehensive 100% online program for anyone interested in entering the field of hyperbaric medicine, providing specialized education in hyperbaric medicine, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, patient care, and chamber operations.
The program provides the academic foundation necessary to understand the clinical and operational environment of hyperbaric medicine. Students progress from the principles of pressure, gas behavior, and hyperbaric physiology through patient assessment, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, chamber systems, treatment operations, safety, emergency procedures, and clinical applications.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Enrollment is open to anyone interested in entering hyperbaric medicine. No professional license or prior medical certification is required.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Approved for 40 hours of continuing education by the Florida Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (Florida CE# 20-1405491). CE hours are available only to certified EMTs and Paramedics; students without an EMT or Paramedic certification complete the same course without CE credit.
BOARD CERTIFICATION PATHWAY
Graduates who meet the applicable experience and credentialing requirements are eligible to pursue CHT board certification through the International Board of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (IBHBOT).
Completion of the Trilogy EMS course provides the educational component of the certification pathway. IBHBOT establishes and administers its own eligibility, experience, application, examination, and board-certification requirements.
