INFO:

Mike Massaro is the Founder and Chief Educator of Trilogy Emergency Medical Solutions, bringing more than 20 years of experience in EMS education, emergency medicine, military service, and specialised medical operations.

As a paramedic and dive medical specialist, Mike combines hands-on field experience with extensive experience developing and delivering professional education for EMS professionals and other high-risk operational environments.

Mike’s medical and operational experience spans both civilian and military settings. His military service includes experience with the United States Air Force, United States Army, and United States Navy, providing a foundation in aviation, emergency response, military medicine, and operations in high-risk environments.

Throughout his career, Mike has worked extensively in EMS education and leadership, including serving as an EMS Program Director. His professional education background includes an affiliate-faculty appointment with NAEMT, with experience across programmes including TCCC, TECC, PHTLS, AMLS, and EPC.

His specialised experience also extends into dive medicine and hyperbaric medicine. Mike holds a master’s degree in hyperbaric medicine and has extensive experience in diving accident management, diving-related injuries, decompression sickness, barotrauma, and medical support for professional diving operations.

As a Dive Medical Technician Instructor, Mike combines medical expertise with practical diving experience to prepare healthcare professionals, divers, instructors, and emergency responders for real-world diving emergencies and operational challenges.

His professional diving background includes recreational, technical, scientific, and public safety diving. He has worked with organisations and programmes including NASA’s NEEMO programme at the Aquarius Undersea Laboratory, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Florida International University, and commercial diving operations. He has also provided independent-duty paramedic and hyperbaric support for offshore commercial diving operations.

Mike’s public safety diving experience includes training and supporting police and fire department dive teams in emergency response diving, water rescue, and small-boat operations.

This combination of medical, operational, military, diving, and instructional experience allows Mike to approach training from the perspective of someone who has worked in the environments being taught.

As an educator, Mike focuses on practical, scenario-based training that prepares professionals to recognise problems, make sound decisions, and respond effectively when operating in demanding environments. His background across EMS, military medicine, dive medicine, hyperbaric medicine, and public safety operations supports Trilogy EMS’s mission of providing specialised education taught by experienced practitioners.
